Payroll in 32 currencies, run in an afternoon

Attendance, leave and payroll in one system, for a team in one office or spread across a dozen countries. Each person is paid and reported in their own currency, under the rules that apply where they work.

The month-end loop, and why it takes so long

Payroll rarely takes a week because the maths is hard. It takes a week because the numbers live in three places that have to be made to agree.

✕

Without Work Mint

Three files, one person who remembers all the rules, and a week of reconciliation before a single payslip exists.

  • Export attendance, match it to the roster by hand
  • Cross-check the leave tracker for paid vs unpaid days
  • Copy into payroll, then re-check against last month
✓

With Work Mint

One set of records. Approved leave is already in attendance; attendance already sets payable days.

  • Attendance arrives automatically from the device
  • Managers approve leave in their own dashboard
  • Payroll calculates, you review and approve
What you get

Four things change the month you switch

Not features. Outcomes your finance director and your HR team will both notice.

01

You stop paying for the reconciliation week

The days spent matching an attendance export to a leave tracker to a payroll sheet don't get faster. They stop existing, because all three read the same records. That time goes back to hiring, onboarding and the work HR is actually for.

Financial · recovered salary cost of admin time
02

Payroll disputes largely disappear

Most payroll arguments come from a mismatch: attendance says one thing, the leave sheet another. When approved leave writes itself into attendance, and attendance sets payable days, there's one version of events and an audit trail behind it.

Risk · fewer corrections, fewer awkward conversations
03

HR stops being a lookup service

"What's my leave balance?" and "can you resend my March payslip?" stop arriving as messages. Employees answer those themselves, and managers approve leave from their own dashboard instead of forwarding emails to HR.

People · fewer interruptions, faster approvals
04

You can answer questions in the meeting

Headcount, turnover, attendance trends, next month's salary bill, available while the question is being asked, rather than promised as a spreadsheet by Thursday.

Efficiency · decisions without a data-gathering exercise
The numbers

What would it save you?

Put in your own figures. We haven't assumed anything about your business, including how much of the work we can realistically take off you.

Twelve modules

Turn on what you need. Leave the rest off.

Each module is switched on per company, so nobody pays for a feature they never asked for, or has to navigate past it.

01

Employee Records

The directory everything else hangs off: profiles, documents, contracts, teams and reporting lines, with per-role access.

02

Attendance & Shifts

Daily sheets, shift patterns, grace periods, late arrivals, early outs and overtime, all calculated rather than counted by hand.

03

Leave Management

Every leave type with its own entitlement and eligibility rules, through manager then HR approval, balances kept live.

04

Payroll & Payslips

Monthly runs with statutory deductions applied automatically, then payslips encrypted with each employee's own ID number.

05

OPD / Medical Claims

Per-employee medical budgets, claim submission with receipts, and approval that writes straight back to the balance.

06

Salary Advances

Advance requests, approval, and automatic recovery from the payroll runs that follow. No side spreadsheet.

07

Increments & Promotions

Increment proposals, salary revisions, promotions and probation confirmations, each with a dated history.

08

Chat & Tasks

Department channels and direct messages, a task board with spaces, checklists, comments and attachments, and announcements that record who has read them.

09

Policy Library & Ask HR

Your policy documents, plus an assistant that answers employee questions from them instead of from guesswork.

Needs your policy documents
10

Reports & Analytics

Headcount, turnover, attendance and payroll trends. The questions a board asks, answered without an export.

11

Biometric Devices

ZKTeco devices push punches straight in. No USB exports, no monthly reconciliation against a machine log.

Needs compatible hardware
12

Billing & Subscription

Lets a client see their own plan, seat count and invoices, or stays off while you bill them outside the app.

The engine

From a fingerprint on a device to an encrypted payslip

Every step below happens without anyone retyping anything. The rules are yours; the arithmetic is ours.

How Work Mint processes a month A punch on a biometric device becomes an attendance record, is checked against leave and shift rules, runs through payroll, and is delivered as an encrypted payslip. A separate assistant answers employee questions from the company policy library. Punch Biometric device Attendance Shifts, late, overtime Payroll Leave, deductions, tax Payslip Encrypted, emailed Ask HR Answers from your policies
  1. Nothing is retyped. The punch that opens the chain is the same record payroll reads at the end of the month.
  2. The rules are configuration, not code. Shift times, grace periods, leave entitlements and deduction rates are settings you control.
  3. Ask HR is the assistant, and only the assistant. It answers employee questions from the policy documents you upload. Payroll itself is deterministic arithmetic. We would rather it were auditable than clever.
Why this matters

Manual HR admin isn't free.
It's just uninvoiced

The cost of spreadsheets and paper timesheets does not appear on a budget line. It appears as hours, corrections and disputes. Here is what the research says.

$291
to correctonepayroll error

Average direct cost in HR and payroll administrator time. Missed sick time runs to $705, a W-4 setup error $539.

Two to five mistakes in every hundred transactions. Manual timesheets produce an error in roughly one pay cycle in three.

One missed clock-in becomes a chain of corrections: the timesheet, the overtime calculation, then the payslip.

These are industry figures, not ours. We have no way to know your numbers. Put your own in the calculator and it will tell you honestly whether Work Mint pays for itself at your size. Sometimes it does not.

Why Work Mint

Built for companies that
don't fit the template

Most HRIS products assume one country, one currency and one way of working. These are the things we do because our customers actually needed them.

Pay people in 32 currencies

One payroll run, staff in several countries, each paid in their own currency at the rate you set. Reporting consolidates back to one.

Payslips nobody else can open

Every payslip PDF is encrypted with a password derived from the employee's own ID number. A forwarded file is useless to whoever receives it.

Your clock-in hardware already works

ZKTeco biometric devices push punches straight in. No USB exports, no reconciling a machine log against a spreadsheet once a month.

Turn off what you don't use

Attendance, leave, payroll, OPD, advances, increments, policies, analytics, all enabled per company. Nobody pays for or navigates modules they never asked for.

Three portals, one system

Employees apply and check balances. Managers approve for their own team only. HR sees everything. No email chains, no chasing.

Your data stays yours

Every company's records are isolated at the database layer, not by a filter someone remembered to add. Nightly backups, restore tested.

Manager & employee hours lost to it18

Managers approving leave over email, and staff waiting on HR for a balance or an old payslip. Both become self-service.

What's inside

Everything HR needs, nothing it doesn't

Built around the work an HR team actually does each month.

Attendance & Time Tracking

Daily attendance, shifts, late arrivals and early check-outs. Biometric device support is built in for offices that use one.

Leave Management

Annual, casual, sick, maternity and work-from-home, each with its own eligibility rules and allocations, through a two-step manager then HR approval.

Payroll & Payslips

Run payroll monthly with tax slabs, EOBI, provident fund and statutory deductions applied automatically, then email payslips to every employee.

Any Currency, Any Country

Pay staff anywhere in the world in their own currency, whether USD, EUR, GBP, AED, INR, PKR or anything else, and still see one consolidated total, converted at rates you control.

Rules That Match Your Jurisdiction

Tax bands, social security, pension and provident fund contributions and leave entitlements are all configurable, so payroll follows the rules where your people actually work.

HR Analytics

Headcount, turnover, attendance trends, salary forecasting and workforce demographics. The numbers management actually asks for.

Employee Self-Service

Staff check in, apply for leave and download payslips themselves, while managers approve from their own dashboard.

Chat & Tasks

A channel for each department, direct messages, and a task board beside them. Turn a message into a task without retyping it, group work into spaces, and post announcements everyone has to acknowledge.

Employee Development Index

How far each person has come since joining, drawn from time served, promotions, pay growth, attendance and work finished. A prompt to go and look at somebody, never a rating.

Leave

Approvals that don't live in your inbox

Every leave type carries its own eligibility, allocation and approval path. Requests go to the manager first, then HR. The moment one is approved it lands in attendance automatically.

  • Annual, casual, sick, maternity, paternity and work-from-home
  • Prorated entitlements for mid-year joiners
  • Balances every employee can check themselves

Works wherever you hire

Built for teams spread across borders

One payroll run covering people in different countries, on different contracts, paid in different currencies, with the local rules applied to each of them.

Any currency in the world

Currency isn't a fixed dropdown. Add any ISO code with the conversion rate you want to report at, and pay each employee in theirs while management sees one consolidated figure.

Local rules, configured to match

Income tax bands, social security, pension and provident fund contributions, statutory leave entitlements and working-week patterns are all set per organization, so payroll follows the law where each person actually works.

New country? We configure the tax bands, contribution rates and leave rules with you during onboarding, so the first payroll run is right rather than approximately right.

One system, three points of view

Everyone sees what they need and nothing they shouldn't.

Run payroll end to end

Generate, review, approve and email payslips, with statutory deductions already applied.

See the whole workforce

Headcount, turnover, attendance trends and demographics, without exporting anything.

How your data is kept

Questions we get asked

Can employees see each other's salaries?

No. Salary information is visible only to HR and authorised approvers. Employees see their own payslips and nothing else.

Can we pay staff in different countries and currencies?

Yes. Each employee is paid in their own currency on the same payroll run, and you get one consolidated total converted at rates you set. Currency is not a fixed list, so any code can be added.

Does it handle the tax and statutory rules where we operate?

Income tax bands, social security, pension and provident fund contributions and statutory leave are all configurable per organization and financial year, so the system follows your local rules. We configure these with you during onboarding rather than assuming a single country's defaults.

Can we import our existing employee data?

Yes. Employee records, salary structures and attendance history can be imported from spreadsheets during onboarding.

Where is our data stored?

On a dedicated server in Manchester, United Kingdom. The UK holds a data adequacy decision with the EU, so transfers from the EU are lawful. Encrypted in transit with TLS, and backed up nightly.

Do you support biometric attendance machines?

Yes. ZKTeco devices push attendance directly into Work Mint, so there is no manual export and import step.
