Work Mint vs HiBob
HiBob (Bob) is built around the employee experience: culture, engagement, a social feed, people analytics. It is very good at that. Work Mint is built around the payroll month, which is a different job.
What HiBob does better
Written by us, about a competitor. We would rather you heard it here than found it out after signing.
- Engagement and culture toolingSurveys, kudos, a company feed, onboarding journeys. Work Mint has none of this and is not trying to.
- People analytics and reporting depthRicher out of the box, with more ways to slice a workforce than we offer today: headcount trends, attrition modelling and compensation review built in rather than exported and rebuilt in a spreadsheet.
- A larger partner and integration ecosystemYears of partnerships mean more places to plug it in without writing anything. Work Mint has a read-only API and is building outward from it, which is a starting point rather than an ecosystem.
Where Work Mint is the better fit
- Payroll is the product, not a partnerSalary structures, statutory deductions, tax years, advances and payslips are in the same system as attendance and leave, reported in 32 currencies.
- Regional statutory rules as configurationGratuity, provident fund, EOBI, social security and tax slabs are per organization with effective dates, because they differ by company and province and change by year.
- An append-only audit log includedWho changed a salary, when, and from what. Not an enterprise add-on.
Choose HiBob if
Culture, engagement and people analytics are what you are buying, and payroll is handled elsewhere.
Choose Work Mint if
The payroll month is the thing that hurts, and you need it right in more than one country and currency.
